Following in the footsteps of his father W.Bro. Stephen Farmer, W.Bro. John A. John received a certificate to mark his 50 years in Freemasonry and at the Wyggeston Lodge Centenary meeting in July 2010, the Provincial Grand Master promoted him to P.P.S.G.W. in view of the long and distinguished service that he had given to the Lodge. W.Bro. John was also a Founder Member of Rothley Temple Lodge No. 7801 and was Master of the lodge in 1965.

Besides the Craft, W.Bro. John was a member of the Wyggeston Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1149 where he was Worshipful Master in 1971. He held Provincial rank of Prov.G.J.W. (1983). He was also a member of the Oliver Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 751 where he took the Chair on the 1st November 1992. He received Provincial Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank in 2000.

Although W.Bro John’s health and mobility declined in more recent years, he remained an active mason up until his death on 5th March 2011. W.Bro. John was a gentleman in every sense, kind and caring with a tremendous sense of humour and he will be sadly missed.
